Model Overview
Saab's 9-3 model line for 2007 is available in sedan, convertible, and SportCombi (wagon) versions, and each of these are available in two engine-oriented trims: 2.0T and Aero. 2.0T sedan and convertible models are powered by a 210-horsepower, 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the Aero comes with a 250-horsepower, 2.8L turbocharged V6 engine.

Both engines can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a Sentronic automatic that includes steering wheel-mounted controls; on four-cylinder models the automatic has five speeds, but on Aero models it's a six-speed. All 9-3 models have front-wheel drive.

The 9-3 emphasizes sporty handling and is equipped for those who appreciate enthusiastic driving. The four-link independent suspension is tuned particularly for high-speed and cornering stability yet maintains impressive ride comfort.

The SportCombi wagon offers an alternative to common crossover SUVs, with a large cargo area, easily expandable with fold-forward rear seatbacks (they also fold forward on sedans). On the SportCombi there's also additional storage under the main cargo area in a recessed subfloor compartment. On the outside, the Sport Combi is adorned with stylish LED taillamps.

For 2007, the interior has been redesigned, with a new automatic climate control system, a larger instrument cluster, and revised interior trims; controls and displays have been repositioned to be oriented toward the driver.

Other standard features on 2.0T models include leather seats and trim, automatic climate control, a power driver's seat, power heated mirrors, and a CD sound system with seven speakers. Aero models get more performance and luxury equipment, including a lowered, sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel vented disc brakes, a power moonroof, sport seats, metallic-finish trim, and a 300-watt Infotainment system with six-disc CD changer.

Major options include a navigation system, park-assist system, rain-sensing wipers, heated seats, and heated headlamp washers.

In keeping with Saab's longstanding reputation for safety, the 9-3 model line includes an extensive list. All 9-3s include front side air bags, outboard side-curtain air bags, anti-lock brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution, and stability and traction control systems.

Model Changes
The Saab 9-3 family gets a restyled interior for 2007, with a new instrument panel, revised trim, and a sportier theme throughout. GM's OnStar communications and roadside assistance service is now optional, and XM satellite radio is now standard on upscale Aero models (optional on 2.0T). The top Bose sound system, previously only available on the Aero, is now optional on the 2.0T Sport. Also, a six-speed manual transmission replaces the five-speed as standard on the 2.0T model.
Four new exterior colors join the lineup: Electric Blue metallic, Smoke Beige metallic, and Arctic White for the Convertible (along with a new tan top), and Titan Grey metallic for the Sport Sedan and SportCombi models.

The 9-3 is due for a more extensive redesign for 2008.
